Wudu Procedures
Wudu Procedures Complete with pillars 13 which will be explained below in detail along with prayers and some hadiths
Wudhu is the purification of small hadaths using water, Usually ablution is performed on a Muslim when trying to establish prayers, Even though ablution is also recommended to start the day like work and study so that you always remember Allah SWT.
Pillars of Wudhu
Like other worship, ablution also has several pillars that must be done to achieve its validity. In the Syafi'i school of jurisprudence, there are six things that are the pillars of ablution. As mentioned by Sheikh Salim bin Sumair Al-Hadhrami in his book Safinatun Najâ.
فروض الوضوء ستة: الأول النية الثاني غسل الوجه الثالث غسل اليدين مع المرفقين الرايع مسح شيئ من الرأس الخامس غسل الرجلين مع الكعبين السادس الترتيب
That means : “There are six obligatory ablutions”
(1) intention
(2) wash your face
(3) wash both hands and elbows
(4) wiped part of the head,
(5) wash both feet as well as both toes
(6) orderly
Intention of Wudhu
وَيْتُ الْوُضُوْءَلِرَفْعِ الْحَدَثِ الْاَصْغَرِفَرْضًالِلّٰهِ تَعَالٰى
Nawaitul wudhuu-a liraf’ll hadatsil ashghari fardhal lilaahi ta’alaa
That means :
"I intend to perform ablution to remove minor hadas because of Allah SWT.”
Wudu Procedures
The procedure for ablution in an orderly or sequential manner between the pillars and the sunnah, if the pillars are mandatory, it means if one is left behind then the ablution is invalid, while the procedure is a complete ablution between the pillars and the sunnah
1. Washing both palms
With a wiping motion between the fingers of the palms starting from the right hand then the left hand and it is sunnah to do three times
2. Gargle
Rinse as much 3 time, with the intention of cleaning the mouth even from the remnants of food that are still in the mouth, in the sunnahkan also bersiwak or toothbrush for those who are able to do and do not burden it
3. Clean the nostrils ( istinsya )
Clean the nostrils as much as 3 times thoroughly by inserting a small amount of water into the nose and then throwing it towards the lower left (to maintain manners so as not to touch the person who is performing ablution next to him)
4 Washing your face
Wash the entire surface of the face evenly, as much as 3 times the movement rotates around the face. Don't forget the part between the eyes that is often left untouched by water
5. Wash both hands
Washing both hands from fingertips to elbows, as much as 3 time
6 Wash your head
Washing the forehead to the tip of the forehead (crown) to part of the head or to the back of the head, as much as 3 times of thorough movement. keep in mind that what is washed is the head, not hair
7 Wash both ears
Wash both tengila both inside and outside the ear (earlobes) to the whole ear, as much as 3 movement times
8 Wash both feet
Washing both feet by starting from the tips of the toes to the back of the feet and up to the ankles , in the Sunnah do until 3 no more times
after ablution it is better to move to a dry place or a high place and face the qibla and then recite the prayer after ablution
- Information:
- Try to face the Qibla when performing ablution
- orderly or sequentially starting from washing the palms to washing the feet
- Ablution is to purify oneself from minor hadaths, not purifying oneself from big hadast let alone purification from heart impurities like: angry, revenge, iri, envy etc..
Du'a after ablution
“Asyhadu allaa ilaaha illallaah, wahdahu laa syariika lahu, wa asyhadu anna mUhammadan ‘abduhu wa Rasuluhu. Allahumma stirred up the minat of repentance, waj'alnii minal mutathahiriina waj'alnii min' ibaadikash shalihiina.”
That means :
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah", no ally for him, And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. Ya Allah! Make me of those who repent and make me of those who purify and make me one of Your righteous servants.”
Conditions of Wudhu
- 1. Islam
So the ablution of the disbeliever or the apostate is not valid - 2. We are clean
What is meant by tamiyiz is someone who understands rather than conversation or can eat alone, drink alone and clean up their own defecation or can distinguish between right and left or can also distinguish between dates and coals. - 3. Clean from menstruation and puerperium
Menstruation is blood that comes out at a certain time for every adult woman. while puerperium is the blood that comes out after giving birth. - 4. There is nothing that prevents water from reaching the skin of the ablution member That is cleaning the skin of the ablution members from such paint or other impurities that stick to the skin so that water cannot enter.
- 5. There is nothing in the ablution member that can change the water That is the cleanliness of the limbs that can change the water and revoke the name of the water. For example, a lot of ink and jakfaron.
- 6. Knowing the kefardhuan/obligation of ablution (A person who performs ablution must know that the law of ablution is fard. If he believes that the legal ablution is sunnah, then his ablution is invalid).
- 7. Not believing in kefardhuan/obligation from the pillars of ablution is sunnah (A person who performs ablution is not allowed to believe in the pillars of ablution that has a sunnah, for example, he believes that washing his hands up to the elbows is a sunnah.).
- 8. Use holy and purifying water That is, the water used is water that is clean from faeces and also not musta'mal water. musta'mal water is the water used for the first time in purification (mandatory washing).
- 9. Enter time (Someone who is constantly passing stools (anyang anyang-beser) then the ablution must enter the prayer time. outside the prayer time is not valid).
- 10. Muwalah That is without any time lag between every washing of ablution and prayer for those who are always hadas. So after performing ablution, you are required to immediately pray.
NB : number requirements 9 and 10 applies to those who always issue hadast continuously ( because of a disease).
