suhupendidikan.com-This time we will discuss the historical material of the Tarumanegara kingdom which covers the background, the golden age and the collapse are short and clear
Background
History Tarumanegara Kingdom is one of the oldest kingdoms in Indonesia or the second oldest after the Kingdom of Kutai. It lasted from the 4th to the 7th centuries. According to historical records, The Corporate Government is a Hindu government.
Early period
The Kingdom Government was established by Rajadirajagur Jayasingawarman during the year 358 AD. This kingdom is a continuation of the history of the Salakanegar kingdom, established between 130 and 362. E.A.. At the time, Salakanegara became a regional government under Tarumanegara government.
Tarumanegara Kingdom is located in Salakanegara province. Further information is available in Banten and Bogor districts. The capital of Sundapur. According to the Tug inscription on 417 M, the territory of the Tarumanegara kingdom included Banten, Jakarta, Bogor, and Cirebon.
Golden Age
Not much time passed, Corporate Governance is safe from the moment of prosperity or golden age just around 3 generation since its inception. Ya, The Tarumanegar Kingdom had reached its peak at the head of the third king, Purnavarman, grandson of Rajadirajagur Jayasingawarman.
During his heyday, Tarumanegara experienced rapid development. Instead of expanding the kingdom by extending it to a small kingdom around its power, Raja Purnawarman also built various infrastructures that supported the royal economy.
One is the Gomati and Chandrabaga rivers. These two rivers, apart from preventing flooding during the rainy season, also plays an important role in irrigating rice fields, formerly one of the drivers of the economic life of the Corporate Government.
The reign of King Purnawarman is considered a royal tribute of Tarumanegara, because of the royal ability to sacrifice 1.000 cattle during the construction of two rivers.
The collapse of the Corporate Government
The collapse of the Corporate Government is rarely known. Even in various inscriptions only the name of Maharaja Purnavarman is mentioned. Most likely, when King Lingavarman abdicated. She was replaced by Tarusbava's daughter-in-law. Tarusbava, who at that time took the throne when the prestige of the Tarumanegara Kingdom fell, intends to revive the royal name of his relatives. But the steps taken actually destroyed the kingdom of Tarumanegar.
On 670 M, Tarusbava, who came from the Sunda Sambava Kingdom, change the name of Tarumanegar Kingdom to Kingdom of Sunda. This incident forced Vretikandayun, great-granddaughter, who was at that time King of the Kingdom of Galuh, to separate his country from Tarusbawa.
Thus a brief and clear discussion of the history of the Tarumanegara kingdom may hopefully be useful.
