Sultans of Aceh
Sultan Ali Mugayat Syah
Mughayat Sultan Ali Shah was the first Ache Sultan of the government. He holds the power of 1514-1528 M. Under his authority, the government includes the Aceh-Aceh Besar Gang.
other than that, the Aceh government also expanded to several areas in North Sumatra, in the field of energy and Wear. Sultan Ali also attacked the Portuguese position in Malacca and also conquered the Aru kingdom.
Sultan Salahuddin
Salahuddin was the son of Sultan Ali Mughayat Syah. After the death of Sultan Ali Mughayat Syah, his son continued the rules. Sultan Salahuddin ruled from 1528-1537. E.A..
Unfortunately, Sultan Salahudin did not pay much attention to his kingdom when he was in power. The result, the government is unable to recover. Finally, on 1537 M, power falls into the hands of his brother, Sultan Alaudin Riyat Syah.
Sultan Alaudin Riyat Syah
Sultan Alaudin Syah reigns over the years 1537 to 1568. Under his rule, The kingdom quickly turned into the leading city of Asian international Muslim traders. The Aceh government is in a strategic position as an opportunity to make it a transit point for Maluku spices. Even, the Aceh provincial government meanwhile continued to clash with the Portuguese.
The government is led by Alaudin Riau Syah , has also strengthened the fleet. other than that, the government also established diplomatic relations with the Ottoman Turkish government.
Sultan Iskandar Young
Under the leadership of Sultan Iskandar Young, The government is at its peak. Young Iskandar, lead 1606 – 1636 M. Sultan Iskandar Muda continued the leadership of Sultan Alauddin Riyat Syah.
Iskandar Muda gave a new breakthrough to the government. It appointed a regular leader of each tribe and developed a government (law), which is a guiding principle for maintaining dominance in the Kingdom. At the same time, Government administration in Aceh is ranked fifth in the world after the Islamic Kingdom of Morocco, Isfahan, Persia and Agra.
This government won an important trading port (on the west and east coast of Sumatra and the west coast of the Malacca Peninsula). other than that, the Aceh government also established diplomatic relations with Britain and the Netherlands to weaken Portuguese attacks.
Sultan Iskandar Thani
Sultan Iskandar Thani ruled from 1626-1641. Unlike the expansion of the previous empire, Iskandar Thani is preoccupied with internal development.
other than that, the Islamic education sector began to grow during his tenure. That was proven from the birth of the book Bustanus salatin, created by scientist Nuruddin Ar-Raniri.
Although Iskandar Tany only ruled for 4 year, Aceh is located in an isolated place. Islamic law as a legal basis began to strengthen. Relations with the conquered territory were driven by a liberal atmosphere, not political or military pressure.
The collapse
The kingdom began to collapse after the death of Sultan Iskandar Thani. This is because there is no longer a generation that is able to rule the Kingdom of Aceh, so broad. as a result, many areas were conquered, like Johor, Pahang and Minangkabau.
other than that, there is a constant struggle between a group of scholars (teungku) and nobles (teuku). This dispute is caused by disagreement in religious sects (Sunnah Wal Jamaa and Shia schools).
Nevertheless, Government of Aceh remain in force until the 20th century. Aceh Government also briefly led by some sultan (Queen). Queen of the Kingdom of Aceh was the Queen Safiatuddin Tajul Alam (1641-1675) and Sri Ratu Nakiatuddin Nur Alam (1675-1678).
Unfortunately, ongoing conflicts and declining territories of the Kingdom of Aceh caused the Kingdom of Aceh to collapse in the early 20th century and came under Dutch control.
I miss it
Mosque of Jerusalem
This mosque building is still the pride of the people of Aceh. The Great Temple of Baiturrahman was built by Sultan Iskandar Muda on 1612 AD. Located right in the center of Banda Aceh. This mosque was burned during the Second Military aggression and finally rebuilt by the Dutch.
When the tsunami hit Aceh in the year 2004, The mosque still strongly protects the refugees inside. To date, This mosque continues to grow or be renewed to become more beautiful. Finally, the mosque was renovated to look like the Nabawi mosque in Medina.
Damn it
Gunongan is a building also built by Sultan Iskandar Muda. This building was built on the basis of love for Pahang's daughter (Putro Phang) made empress by Sultan Iskandar Muda.
Because of his great love, Sultan Iskandar Muda fulfilled Putro Phang's wish to build a beautiful sari garden that was equipped with Gunongan.
Currently, Taman Sari and Gunongan are separate places like Sari Park, Taman Putro Phang and Gunongan. The location of these three places is almost close to the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, so you can easily visit it.
Old Indrapuri Mosque
This mosque was originally a legacy from the Hindu royal temple in Aceh. However, during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Young, this temple turned into a mosque function.
You can still see buildings, similar in structure to temples, but in combination with Islamic nuances in Indrapuri, Aceh Besar.
In addition to the three places listed above, there are many other relics that are still awake. Relics in the form of items such as gold coins, weapons and others. Meanwhile, the statement of the Aceh government at this time was also applied in the eve of the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda.
Thereby, a more complete story of the history of the kingdom of Aceh. Despite the fact that the empire collapsed a long time ago, the influence of values and other relics is still maintained among the people of Aceh. Therefore, we have to save it.
The names of the sultans from the kingdom of Aceh are still remembered by the people of Aceh to this day. This shows that this kingdom did indeed carve a large former history in the land of Renkong.
