History of the Kaaba

The history of the sanctuary, not outdated, always hotly discussed in different circles. From housewives who attend public meetings to reach the fifth pilgrimage to generals who want to repeat the pilgrimage with relatives.

But who would have thought that there are several versions in the history of the construction of the Kaaba. Ali Husni Al Harbuti wrote that the first person who built the Kaaba was an angel, right before the creation of the earth.

It is said that at that time the verse of QS Al-Baqarah 30. God was angry with the angels and then turned away, finally the angels ran to Arsi, they looked up, asking God for forgiveness.

Then the angels circled the Throne seven times – such as the pilgrimage to the Kaaba today. Looking this, Allah sent down His mercy and built a house under the Throne, namely bait from al-Mamur, and God said: “Tawaflah, You surround this house and leave Throne.”

After that, Allah ordered the angels on earth to build a building similar to Baitul Mamur, and ordered them to circle around the building, like the circumambulation of the angels in heaven. If so, then the angels make a pilgrimage 2.000 years before Prophet Adam was created.

According to other historians, said Prophet Adam was the first to build the Kaaba. At the time, God commanded the angel Gabriel to deliver a revelation to Adam and Eve. Show location, Djibril presents a revelation that reads: "Build me a building.”

After the building is finished, God commanded Prophet Adam and Eve to perform tawaf, and Allah speaks: “You are the first person, and this is the first building.” Then, along with time, the time of Abraham is coming, who raised the foundation of the Kaaba.

Nevertheless, historians agree that the Kaaba was built by the prophet Ibrahim and his son Ismail. According to Faturrahman Yahya, this is because the gift of the Kaaba is identical to the building erected by Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ishmael.

Word of God

They built the Kaaba because Allah ordered them. And in the Qur'an, Allah says in Surat Al-Baqarah verse 127 :

وَإِذْ يَرْفَعُ إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْقَوَاعِدَ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ وَإِسْمَاعِيلُ رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا ۖ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

” And (Remember) when Ibrahim raised the foundation of Baitullah with Ismail, (while praying), “Oh our god, accept it (charity) from U.S. Really, You are the All -Hearing , All Knowing.”
