The Meaning of Repentance

By the way repentance means back, but in terms of repentance means returning to Allah SWT, back to his law, admit all kinds of mistakes and regret them, and promised not to repeat it.

God said

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةً۬ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن يُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِكُمۡ وَيُدۡخِلَڪُمۡ جَنَّـٰتٍ۬ تَجۡرِى مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ يَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡزِى ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِىَّ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ ۥ‌ۖ نُورُهُمۡ يَسۡعَىٰ بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيہِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَـٰنِہِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَآ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَآ‌ۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ ڪُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ قَدِيرٌ۬

Hi believers, repent to God with repentance (His pure repentance). Hopefully your Lord will cover your wrongs and put you in a stream flowing below the rivers, on the day when Allah did not dishonor the Prophet and the believers with him; as their light shines in front of and to their right, while they say: & ldquo; Ya Rabb kami, perfect for us our light and forgive us; Verily You are the All-Powerful of all things & rdquo;. (QS. At Tahrim : 8)

Look at that verse, where Allah Almighty recommends repentance, Allah Almighty also promises people who repent of His Paradise.

Terms of Repentance Repentance

Meanwhile, to get success in carrying out the repentance of the nasuha there are several conditions that must be met.

Repent of all his sins.
This regret begins with a heartfelt acknowledgment that what we have done is wrong and infringing.. This is important in order to awaken the level of awareness so that in the future there will be no more permissive feelings in committing sins.

After that only gave birth to regret, sad, angry and afraid of all the sin we have committed. This feeling arises as we become aware of God's threats to sin and also sincerely hope for God's mercy..

Promise not to repeat it.
A person can be said to repent if the sinful deed has been truly abandoned and has never been repeated. This can be said to be a mental move. This process of mental migration is necessary so that all doors to sin may be closed and not open to the possibility of such repeated acts..

Then, once both of the above conditions are met then Allah Almighty will re-examine the servant who has repented. The test is in the form of encouragement to return to the sins that have been left behind or encouragement to commit other sins.

Apologize to fellow humans
If the mistake is related to our relationship with others.
Express your sincere apology, sincerely and with open chest. Accept the chest if the affected person still harbors anger or hurts, ask forgiveness to Allah Almighty for him.

The Law of Prayer Repentance

Repentance prayer is proof of the seriousness that we as humans really want to repent and all our sins really want to be forgiven.

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said

& ldquo; It is not a servant who prays two rak'ahs and then begs Allah's forgiveness, except Allah will forgive him.” Then he read this verse. & ldquo; and (too) people who when committing atrocities or abusing themselves, they remember Allah, and ask forgiveness for their sins and who can forgive sins other than God? Prayer Times

Repentance prayers include sunnah prayers that are performed when certain events are the cause. Prayers with these characteristics are also found in the salat and istikhoroh. Prayers with this characteristic also specifically do not have a time limit on the process.

Regarding when, some scholars believe that if repentance is better done as soon as possible, after we receive guidance from Allah Almighty. It is intended that the forgiveness of sins we commit does not hold Allah Almighty, while we ourselves do not know the limits of our age.

Some other scholars argue to carry out repentance prayer at any time, but with the exception is when he forbids performing sunnah prayers. These times include, at dawn until the sun rises (Syuruq) and Asr until the sun sets.

As for the prohibition of sunnah prayer there is 5 (lima) as follows:

• 1. From the rising of the second dawn until the sun rises.
  2. From sunrise to sun rises (قيد رمح).
  3. From the moment the sun is right in the middle to leaning.
  4. From Asr prayer to sunset.
  5. Towards sunset the sun sets completely.

The Procedure for Prayers

The next step, have a prayer 2 raka’at.

Prayers should be done alone, not a congregation because it includes sunnah prayers that are not performed in the congregation. And after the prayer is read the merit, beg forgiveness for Allah Almighty.

Readings during prayer other than Al-Fatihah can read any book or letter. There are no special provisions. But generally the surah read after Fatihah is Al-Kafirun in the first rokaat and Al-Ikhlas in the second rokaat.

It is recommended that this prayer be repented of doing good deeds based on the word of Allah QS Thaha verse 82
وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِمَنْ تَابَ وَآَمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَى.

That means: And verily I am Forgiving to those who repent, believers, do good deeds, then stay on the right path.

The greatest good charity that a repentant person does is charity. Because Sadaqah is among the biggest causes that can wash away sin.

Allah says in the QS Al-Baqarah 2:271

إِنْ تُبْدُوا الصَّدَقَاتِ فَنِعِمَّا هِيَ وَإِنْ تُخْفُوهَا وَتُؤْتُوهَا الْفُقَرَاءَ فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ وَيُكَفِّرُ عَنْكُمْ مِنْ سَيِّئَاتِكُمْ

That means: If you show alms(mu), then that is very kind. And if you hide it and you give it to the believers, then hiding it is better for you. And Allah SWT will erase from you some of your mistakes; and Allah knows what you do.

Do & rsquo; and Readings After the Prayer of Repentance

After greetings, then read the merit 100 time اَسْتَغْفِرُاللهَ الْعَظِيْمِ

After forgiveness, read the prayer below:

اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْاَلُكَ تَوْ فِيْقَ اَهْلِ الْهُدَى وَاَعْمَالَ اَهْلِ التَّوْبَةِ وَعَزْمَ اَهْلِ الصَّبْرِ وَجِدَّ اَهْلِ الْخَشْيَةِ وَطَلَبَ اَهْلِ الرَّ غْبَةِ وَتَعَبُّدَ اَهْلِ الْوَرَعِ وَعِرْفَانَ اَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ حَتَّى اَخَافَكَ . اَللَّهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْاَلُكَ مَخَا فَةً تَحْجُزُ نِى عَنْ مَعَاصِيْكَ حَتَّى اَعْمَلَ بِطَا عَتِكَ عَمَلاً اَسْتَحِقُّ بِهِ رِضَاكَ حَتَّى اُنَا صِحَكَ فِىالتَّوْ بَةِ خَوْ فًا مِنْكَ وَحَتَّى اَخْلِصَ لَكَ النَّصِيْحَةَ حُبًّا لَكَ وَحَتَّى اَتَوَ كَّلَ عَلَيْكَ فَ اْلاُمُوْرِ كُلِّهَاوَحُسْنَ ظَنٍّ بِكَ . سُبْحَانَ خَالِقِ نُوْرٍ

That means: Yes Allah, indeed, I beg of You Taufiq(help)those who get directions(guidance),and the deeds of the repentant, and the ideals of people who are patient, and the seriousness of those who are afraid, and the search for people who love, and the worship of those who keep themselves from sin (wara’), and ma & rsquo; it is the nature of the wise men that I fear you. Yes, Allah, indeed, I beg of You for fear that protects my servant from evil, so that I will deliver the kettle & rsquo; to you who is worthy of your blessing so that I am sincere to you in repentance for fear of You, and so that I can bring sincerity to you out of love for you, and so I submit myself to you in all matters, and I pray thee good things. Glorious Delight That Makes Light.

Thereby, May our repentance be forgiven even though our sins are as numerous as the sand on the seashore
