The Prayer of the Prophet Ibrahim
The Prayer of the Prophet Ibrahim – In the Qur'an with a clear statement that Allah SAW conveys the command that we pray and only ask Him in everything.
“Ask Me, then I will grant your request,”
That is His command. Allah also stated, "I grant the request of the person who asks when he asks Me.”
The Qur'an mentions many prayers recited by God's chosen servants. There are many prayers recited by the Apostles in the stories of their life journey.
And from those prayers we can take valuable lessons and education is very extraordinary to be imitated when conveying the wishes and requests of prayers to Allah SWT.
The Prayer of the Prophet Ibrahim
Among the prayers of the apostles that we can find in the Qur'an and we can take lessons from it are the prayers offered by Prophet Ibrahim . Among them are :
In Surat As-Shaffat verse 100:
That means :
& ldquo; O my Lord, give me a righteous offspring.”
In Surat Ibrahim verse 35:
That means :
"And remember when the Prophet Ibrahim prayed" O my Lord, make this land safe and keep me and my children away from idolatry.”
In Surat Ibrahim verse 40 to 41:
That means :
& ldquo; O my Lord, make me the one who establishes prayer and also my descendants. Oh my god, Accept my prayers. O our Lord, Forgive me, my parents and the believers on the Day of Judgment.”
In Surat Al Baqarah verse 126:
That means :
“And remember when Prophet Ibrahim prayed‘ O my Lord, make this country a peaceful country and give its people sustenance from fruits, namely those who believe in Allah and the Last Day among them ’.”
Observing the prayers recited by Prophet Ibrahim above, there is a noble education and example that every Muslim needs to imitate to live life and in asking in prayer to Allah SWT.
Prayers for Descent
First, when Abraham wished to have descendants, He asked it to Allah SWT with the request of a pious descendant.
In Arabic the word “sholeh” has a proper meaning, appropriate or even worthy. A pious offspring is a worthy offspring in all things. Fast -paced personality with admirable morals, behave and speak properly and do not harm others, and also scientifically worthy, economy and so on.
This kind of offspring is what Prophet Ibrahim coveted. He asked for offspring with a pious nature, handsome, rich or something like that.

Second, in his prayers, Prophet Ibrahim always and always includes his descendants.
He never asked for goodness from Allah SWT just for himself, Aka but He asked for his descendants as well.
This shows that as a parent, Abraham was not selfish, does not want to enjoy the facilities that Allah has given him without involving his descendants. He always wished that every favor he could be enjoyed by his descendants.
This attitude can clearly be learned from Surat Al Baqarah verse 124:
Prayers for the Nation
Third, besides not forgetting all the descendants in prayer, Prophet Ibrahim also never forgot to pray for the country where he lived with virtues.
This is important. When someone asks for goodness for himself, then that goodness can only be enjoyed by himself. But when he prays for the good of his country, that is in the form of security, tranquility, prosperity and so on, the goodness in that country can also be enjoyed by him and also everyone who lives in that country.
It is this kind of prayer of Prophet Ibrahim that is in fact granted and the result is also enjoyed by millions of people. The city of Mecca that he prayed for is a city that is so safe and comfortable.
Prayer for Forgiveness
Fourth, the prayer of Prophet Ibrahim immortalized in Surat Ibrahim verse 41 is an extraordinary prayer very valuable for believers wherever and whenever they are.
In that prayer, He asked for forgiveness on the Day of Judgment for himself, both his parents and also for the believers. If so, Doesn't that mean that every believer tomorrow on the Day of Judgment will be forgiven of his sins by Allah SWT? This is a great joy for all believers, because Allah will not reject the prayer of His beloved, The Kholil of Prophet Ibrahim.
Such is the discussion of the prayer of Prophet Ibrahim, Hopefully it will be useful and hopefully our good prayers will be answered, amen
