Prayers for Both Parents Who Are Still Alive

Although the lafadz of this prayer is short, but this prayer is very mustajab, because this prayer is intended to achieve Divine pleasure:

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَ الِدَىَّ وَارْ حَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَا نِى صَغِيْرًا

Allahumma fighfirlii wa liwaa lidhayya warham humaa kamaa rabbayaa nii shokhiroon

That means : Ya Allah, forgive me and my parents, both my mom and dad, have mercy on both of them like they loved me when i was little.

Dua for parents who have died

Even though their services are immeasurable, we can't continue to serve our parents, because the relationship between parents and children will be cut off when the parents die.

From Abu Hurairah radhiyallahu ‘anhu, The Prophet sallallaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam once said :

اِذَا مَاتَ الْاِنْسَانُ انْقَطَعَ عَمَلُهُ اِلَّا مِنْ ثَلاَ ثَةٍ مِنْ صَدَقَتٍ جَارِيَةٍ وَعِلْمٍ يٌتَفَعُ بِهِ وَوَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ

“If someone dies, then his practice is cut off except 3 (three) things, that is: alms jariyah, knowledge that is used, or the prayer of a pious child.”

even though your parents are gone, but you can still be devoted to your parents by sending the best prayers for them. Here is a prayer you can recite for your parents who are no longer in this world, so that they may receive forgiveness and protection in heaven.

اللّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَاَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مَدْخَلَهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِلْمَاءِ وَالشَّلْجِ وَالْبَرْدِ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الْاَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّ نَسِ وَاَبْدِلْهُ دَارً اخَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ وَاَهْلًا خَيْرًا مِنْ اَهْلِهِ وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ وَادْخِلْهُ الجَنَّةَ وَاعِذْهُ مِنْ عَدَابِ الْقَبرِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ

Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'aafihi wa 'fu' anhu wa akrim nuzulahu wa wassi’ madkholahu, waghsilhu bil maa i wats-tsalji kastarodi wa naqqihii minal khothoo ya kamaa yunaqqots- tsawbul abyadhu minad danas, wa abdilhu daaron khoiron min daawari wa ahlan khoiron min ahli wa wa zawjan khoiron min zawjihi, wa adkhilhul jannata wa a ‘idzhu min‘ adzaabil qobri wa fitnatihi wa min ‘adzaabin naar.

That means : O Allah, forgive and have mercy, Let go, Let him go. Dam glorify his abode, widen the entrance, wash him with clear, cold water, and cleanse him from all faults like a white shirt clean from dirt, and replace his house with a better house than the one he left, and a better family, from what he left behind as well. Get him into heaven, and protect him from the torment of the grave and his slander, and the torment of the fire of hell.

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ

& ldquo; O our Lord, forgive me and my parents and all the believers on the day of reckoning (doomsday)” (QS.Ibrahim: 41).

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالْإِيمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِي قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّا
لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ

& ldquo; Ya Rabb kami, forgive us and our brothers who have believed before us, and let not our hearts be envious of those who believe; Ya Rabbi kami, Lo! Thou, only Thou, art the Forbearing, the Merciful” (QS. Al Hasyr: 10).

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَنْ دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ
الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا

& ldquo; O my Lord! Forgive me, my father's mother, those who come into my house believing and all believing men and women. And add not to the unjust except destruction” (QS. Noah: 28).

Thereby, May it be beneficial and may our parents live happily in this world and in the hereafter and always with His pleasure, amen
